Octavio Camera is CEO of KIO. His passion for entrepreneurship and technology allowed him to leave far behind the initial restlessness of taking his professional path towards economics and politics.


Octavio Camarena joined KIO in 2013 and has been leading the company's technological infrastructure services in recent years as well as Data Center Services. With over 22 years of experience in the IT services industry.

He took his first step as an entrepreneur in the mid-1990s when he co-founded "Mexico Analytica," a real-time financial information company on the web. In 2000, he founded Masnegocio, to become a pioneer in "Software as a Service" (SaaS) industry worldwide with the first ERP SaaS offering. He transformed the way business technology applications were consumed from an acquisition model to a rental model.

He participates and has participated in several boards in profit and nonprofit companies including the Dean's Council of the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and The Mexican Red Cross. Octavio is also active in the Venture Capital Industry, supporting investors and entrepreneurs as member of  Angel Ventures Investment committee and AC Ventures, the Corporate C of Arca Continental.  He has also been a mentor in Endeavor for several years.

He has been recognized with the Ernst & Young "Entrepreneur of the Year" award, as well as the "New Entrepreneurs" award from "Líderes Mexicanos" (Top Business Magazine). He has also been acknowledged as one of the 30 promises under 30 years old, according to the Mexican business magazine Expansión.
 
He has a BA in Economics by Lawrence University (Magna Cum Laude) and a Master in Public Policy by Harvard University, John F. Kennedy School of Government.
 
Octavio defines entrepreneurship as “the chance to switch from a zero sum game to an incremental one; making the pie bigger as opposed to competing for the same slices”.  Generating new sources of employment and generating incremental wealth.
